I'm Salmon. Just Salmon.

Hi, I’m Salmon. Just Salmon.

KISMET (Keepitshort Media and Entertainment Talent) community, an exclusive platform for film and animation trained aspiring creators, chose me as their mascot.

And honestly?

I wondered why.

There are bigger animals. Louder icons. Famous faces. Flashier symbols.

So… why a salmon?

Here’s what they told me.

A salmon doesn’t swim with the current.
It swims upstream.

Against pressure.
Against rocks.
Against force.

Not for applause. Not for attention.
But because something inside pulls it forward.

It follows an inner compass; a direction written into its being.

And that’s exactly what KISMET stands for.

Every aspiring filmmaker trained in film schools, animation institutes, drama troupes, and cultural academies knows this feeling. Choosing the world of entertainment and visual storytelling isn’t the easy road.

It means rejection.
Financial uncertainty.
Comparison.
Doubt.

The industry often pushes you back harder than the river pushes a salmon.

But those who continue aren’t fighting for validation.
They’re following purpose.

That’s where KISMET community comes in.

KISMET doesn’t mean luck.
It means direction.

I don’t stay in calm waters, because calm waters don’t transform me. The struggle shapes me. The resistance strengthens me. The upstream journey is what makes me complete.

In the same way, creators who feel that inner pull toward storytelling aren’t chasing trends, they’re answering something deeper.

Resistance isn’t the obstacle.
It’s the path.

If you feel that pull to create, to tell stories, to swim against the current, your journey has already begun.

Maybe I am the right choice after all.

I’d love to know what you feel.

Swim upstream.
